DIVE SITES
Here you will find some information about the various sites and locations where the diving lessons and excursions are taking place.
PAGASITIC GULF
Pagania
“Our” reef is exactly in front of our facilities. When you start swimming from the beach you will notice the smooth bottom and the posidonian lawns, but you will never imagine that in few meters longer the scene is changing dramatically. The depth is increasing little by little and from 13m and on, complexes of rocks appears where every kind of underwater life finds shelter in there. Meetings with sting rays or other fishes are not rare. This place is perfect for scuba divers of all levels, because there are very interesting reefs reachable from the shore, in range from 15-23m up to 30+m.

Alatas I
A place full of life among the single rocks, domes and steep cliffs. Alternative routes of major depth 20 or 30m/60 or 90f, render the spot ideal to offer enjoyable submarine experiences to scuba divers of all levels.
Alatas II
In the underwater extension of the island up north, spectacular rocks pop up created from the alleviation of the contiguous flows. The spot in front of Milina’s harbor “protects” the place from fishing, there for diving here becomes more and more interesting. The dive starts and finishes around a complex of vertical monoliths that reminds a miniature of Meteora, a diving place of spectacular beauty.
Dontia (Teeth)
This area named by the tops of the reef, whom like teeth pop up from the surface of the sea. From this point we start our dive and again we will have another meeting with new teeth reaching out through the sand in depth from 16-30m. The peaceful landscape, gives you the change for a relaxing and smooth dive.
Faraggi (Gorge)
Wild landscape imposed on you while swimming along a reef which falls steeply to 40+m/120+f. The cavities of the rock always hold minor or major surprises, while the narrow gorge separates the peak of the reef from the main bulk creating a huge, awesome single rock. The “silver rain” created by schools of saddled bream or other smaller fish, gives the final touch to an amazing, submarine environment.
Didimes Spilies (Twin Caves)
Two spectacular, similar caves enter in depth of 40-50meters/120-150feet. The first one is in the surface of the sea and has 5m depth. You can reach the second one in depth of 20m. The distance between them is less than 100m. Sponges of various colors and shades cover the walls creating a natural, multicolored “mosaic” granting the visitors a bewitching spectacle. The surrounding reef falls steeply to 30+m/90+f offering a lot of alternatives to more experienced scuba divers.
Prasouda
At the south of Pagasitic Gulf, two reefs in the middle of the sea peak at 9 and 18m. Never does a dive here seem the same as the previous one… Essential asset is the perfect underwater orientation, so as to find the emersion rope on the way back, which is the safe path to the surface. A dive addressed exclusively to experienced divers.
Bora
The 16-metre fishing boat "Bora" is one of the dozens of "victims" of the European subsidies for the hoisting of old fishing boats. Today it is found sunk at 23metres depth. Its rusty wreck creates a mystic atmosphere while it also provides shelter to many species of the submarine fauna that are gathered here in large numbers. It is a very interesting dive for divers of all levels.
CHANNEL OF TRIKERI - NORTH EVOIAN GULF
Lighthouse
The lighthouse of Trikeri was built in 1864 by the French Lighthouse Company. The reasons that lead to its construction become immediately obvious to everyone who dives in the area. Objects that have become one with the rocky bottom of the sea, are the remaining witnesses of the numerous accidents that have happened here even since the ancient times. Τhe smooth bottom with complexes of rocks spread on white sand, creates the perfect conditions for a beautiful, calm, relaxing and really enjoyable dive.
Shipwreck "Kali Tichi"
The motor boat "Kali Tichi" was built on 1917 in Holland, sank in Agia Kiriaki’s harbor on 25th of July1975 while was heading to Heraklion of Creta. The ship was loaded with steel from the Steelwork of Bolos. Its length is 114 feet, while its deepest spot is found at 17m. This makes it remarkably accessible even for amateur divers, who can securely enter in its open storerooms. The shipwreck has been preserved in excellent condition until today and this, along with the small depth in which it lies, makes it ideal for the lovers of undersea photography.
Electra's Cave I
The area has taken its name from the cave which is found at 12m. depth and Helectra, its occasional inhabitant, a beautiful big Mediteranean Monk seal (Monachus Monachus). If Helectra doesn´t come to greet us while we are still on the boat, it means that she is away, so in this case we can start our dive with a short visit to her "house". Going further we pass under an impressive dome and as we swim west, we follow the abrupt rock down to 40 m. depth. On our way down, numerous holes at the body of the rock always hide little surprises, which are a constant challenge for those with an eye for detail.
Electra's Cave II
For this dive we also start from Helectra´s cave, but this time we move southeast. Following the morphology of the bottom which slopes smoothly, we pass by rocks that stand away from one another, to approach the complex of two tremendous monoliths at 40-45 m., an attraction for the submarine fauna of the surrounding area. There is flora and fauna of great variety and quantity around the two imposing masses, in a deep blue background. This dive is suitable only for experienced divers.
Agia Vaso
Agia Vaso is called by the locals, though it is the same enchanting and secluded beach that is referred to as Agios Vatos on maps. Starting our dive fast from the shore, we soon meet a vertical wall which ends up gradually at 23 m. The most experienced divers can go on deeper, down along another step that ends in more than 35 m. depth. Big holes at the base of the wall, rocks that form domes, impressive monoliths, compose an impressive underwater scenery. Objects, that by now have been incorporated to the bottom, prove that the area has been a ship passage since the ancient times.
Agia Vaso (deep)
A huge forest of soft corals (gorgonias) in depth of 30m. below of the surface, fascinates with its beauty anyone who is lucky enough to dive there. On your way back in shallow waters lots of nudibranchs in many shapes figures and colors dance in the smooth draft…and the cameras are on fire!
Argyronissos
Argyronissos has its own fans. The strong currents and the frequently changing weather offer natural protection, so as a result is the spectacular submarine life on the surrounding reefs. The remains of a German capital-ship, from B’ World War complete the scenery. The approachable depths and the exceptional underwater landscape, a creation of the permanent currents of the area, render the spot ideal for scuba divers of all levels.
AEGEAN SEA
Lefteris Reef
A small rock with a great history. According to Herodotus, this rock had been the cause for at least three Triremes of the Persian fleet to sink, during the Persian invasion to Greece. In 480BC therefore, by Xerxes orders, a tall tower was built on the rock to assure a secured passage of the ships in the area. It is the oldest construction of this kind, known today (2,5 centuries before the Lighthouse of Alexandria) parts of which have been found and drawn out with the help of divers in 1928. Diving around the reef is a unique experience. Vertical walls that vanish in the deep blue, meadows of countless Gorgonias, modern shipwrecks and intense submarine life, compose an impressive underwater scenery, capable to excite even the most experienced diver.
Shipwreck "Vera"
The cargo ship "Vera" 58m. long was built in 1956 at Holland and crashed on Lefteris Reef in 10/2/1999 heading from “LARKO” locations in Larimna Fthiotidas to Thessaloniki. A few months later, it broke in two and sank. Today it is found in a depth of 25 m. Its bow is standing at a vertical position, while its stern a few meters further lies at the bottom on its side. As time went by, it has become a natural shelter for marine life. This fact, in combination with the mystic atmosphere of the wreck and its ideal depth, creates all the prerequisites to an unforgettable dive, for divers of all level.
Shipwreck "Volos"
The German commercial ship “Volos” (ex Thasos) 85,6meters was built in 1902 at the shipyard “Neptun” of Rostock, crashed and sunk on Lefteris reef on 21/2/1931. The ship was loaded with tobacco, oil and mineral spirits and was traveling from Istanbul to Edinburg through Thessaloniki – Volos. The crew was picked up and carried to Volos from the Sweden ship S/S Belos. Few years later the crashed-ship had the leading role to a historical documentary film, “Menschen unten Heien” (Men among Sharks) of the Austrian marine biologist Hans Hass. In the film among others you can see parts of the ship, like a wooden steering wheel, that unfortunately was taken away from the local sponge divers. You can also descry the ship in vertical position with the foremast pumping up the surface of the sea. Few years later the ship slipped away deeper and today’s location is in 35-64meters by the side on the bottom of the sea, being maybe one of the most beautiful shipwreck in Greece and not even.
